Subjects of Interest to General Counsel

My goals in working with General Counsel for a Company are to:

Help the Company prepare for settlement negotiations or mediation.
Bring to the Company the newest and best thinking in ADR, avoiding the replication of methods that may predominate ADR providers but are not in the Company's best interests.
Serve as Settlement Counsel in pending matters.
Plan a phased settlement initiative in a lawsuit.
Plan and/or conduct negotiation & ADR training within the legal department.
Improve arbitration efficiency.
Integrate the best thinking about dispute resolution into the Company, including an analytical approach to settlement or mediation.
Assist in avoidance of settlement errors.
Enhance the use of preventive ADR and early interventions to reduce outside legal costs.
Draft ADR clauses into the Company's agreements.
Assess prospects of obtaining an Advisory Opinion.
